Back in July, when the Emmy nominations were announced, I was so incredibly excited the nominees that I wrote a note about in Facebook. Now the Emmys are on tonight so I just thought maybe I should repost what I wrote then, on my blog now.
AWESOME NOMINATIONS
Outstanding Choreography*
Derek & Julianne Hough are nominated for their awesome jive to “Great Balls of Fire”! SYTYCD got 4 noms for “Bleeding Love”, “Mercy”, “A Los Amigos” (Chelsie & Joshua’s Argentine Tango), and “Adam & Eve” (Will & Jessica’s Contemporary)!
Outstanding Comedy
Besides the usual suspects of 30 Rock, The Office, and Entourage, we got Flight of the Concords, Family Guy, and wait for it…HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER!!
Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy*
JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE ON SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE!!! i think that explains it all lol
Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy
and rightfully so, Jim Parsons aka Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory was nominated against Steve Carrell and Alec Baldwin. as much as I love Office and like 30 Rock…Big Bang Theory OWNED! pretty much thanks to Jim Parsons
Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics
Justin’s nominated TWICE in this category…including one for Motherlover LOL!
Outstanding Host for a Reality TV Competition
Yes! for Phil Keoghan being nominated for hosting The Amazing Race! since he wasn’t nominated last year…and here begins his streak of wins just like the show winning every year in the Outstanding Reality Show category lol
Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy
AHAHA @ Jeremy Piven getting snubbed…this just means that Neil Patrick Harris will finally WIN!!! or Rainn Wilson, but c’mon, its NPH!

– Cat Deeley should have been nominated for Outstanding Host! Screw Seacrest! Cat Deeley is pure awesomeness…
– nothing for Chuck?! Zach Levi and Yvonne Strahovski are awesome. so is Adam Baldwin as Casey. totally underrated show
– The Big Bang Theory should’ve been nominated for Best Comedy over what was critically deemed as Entourage’s worst season
– despite opening the field from 5 to 6 nominations in most categories, Best Reality TV Show still only had 5 nominees…6th slot should’ve been So You Think You Can Dance!

I honestly can’t wait ’till the show tonight. Neil Patrick Harris hosting the Emmys means that it is already guaranteed that this years awards telecast will be FAR SUPERIOR to last year’s 5 host disaster. Plus with all the promises/rumours of lots of dancing (NappyTabs number featuring Maks & Karina from DWTS, and SYTYCD alums Joshua, Katee, Mark, Ryan, Hok), Dr. Horrible awesomeness, and the PC guy doing the voiceovers, it is going to be (as NPH’s HIMYM character Barney Stinson would say) LEGEN – wait for it……………-DARY! ahaha
